PROSECCO
GRAPES
The Prosecco is a vigorous and hardy vine,
with nut-coloured shoots and quite large, loosely-packed
winged clusters of beautiful golden yellow berries.
In the cultivation there is the 90% of Prosecco,
and the 10% is composed by lesser vine varieties
like Verdiso, Perera and Bianchetta.
THE VERDISO
This grapes is used to increase the wine acidity
and sapidity. The Verdiso has medium-sized clusters
with very long, herbaceous peduncles (grape-stalks)
and long, slender, reddish shoots. Its berries
are a beautiful citrine yellow.
THE PERERA
The Perera is used to enhance perfume end aroma
of the wine. Some say that its "strange"
name comes from very particular taste of its
pulp (that is to say the taste of "pera",
the Italian word for pear) or from its shape,
which resembles that of an upturned pear. The
Perera is a variety very similar to Prosecco,
but with slightly larger clusters, berries deep
yellow in colour and shiny.
THE BIANCHETTA
The Bianchetta is exceptionally vigorous, with
opaque green leaves and medium-sized, yellowish-green
clusters, each having a single wing that makes
it seem almost like a double cluster.
